The Rupert McCoy Memorial Education Grant


In honour of the late Mr. Rupert McCoy, and his more than 30 years of service as a dedicated volunteer, ambassador and advocate for the Credit Union, the Annual Education Grant will now be called The Rupert McCoy Memorial Education Grant. Mr. Rupert was fully committed to not only the credit union movement and philosophy in the Cayman Islands but also regionally and internationally. As a Credit Committee Chairman and Board Vice President, he assisted CICSA Co-op Credit Union by offering several tailor-made training courses for members and staff. It is in this spirit of service and dedication to improving knowledge and education, that we honour Mr. Rupert by offering students educational grants in his name.

If you are a Credit Union member in good account standing, or immediate family to a Credit Union Member, pursuing post-secondary studies or technical and vocational training either locally, overseas or online, Our Credit Union invites you to apply for The Rupert McCoy Memorial Education Grant.


Annual education grants have been awarded by the Credit Union for 27 years (since 1994), providing more than KYD $2.2 million dollars in grants. In 2021, the programme awarded over KYD $200,000 in monetary grants to 167 successful applicants.

Grant recipients are selected based on their academic record, character references, and area of study. The Rupert McCoy Memorial Education Grant is one of the many benefits offered to Member-owners of the Credit Union and is intended to provide an opportunity for our people to fulfil their education and career goals.

How Do I Apply?

  1. Complete the application form via the online Rupert McCoy Memorial Education Grant Application Form (see button link below). Please note that handwritten or scanned emailed forms will not be accepted.
  2. After completing the online form, submit ALL other required documents to the email below.
  3. Contact us by email or phone to answer questions/get clarification before you submit your application.

Important Tips

  2. Make sure your application is complete and not missing any information.
  3. We are accepting applications online only this year—no handwritten or scanned email applications.
  4. Student photos, in passport-style, may also be submitted as an image attachment to the email below.
